205/60/15's Falken Ziex ZE-512 Is this a good tire size ????
205/60/15's Falken Ziex ZE-512 Is this a good tire size ????
I have a set of stock 15's that need new tires. My car is not lowered and is all stock. Well I commute to college about an hour every other day and I am sick of wearing down my Yokohama es100's on my 17's. So I need new tires to go on the stock 15 inch rim. Is this tire size too big? Will it look funny on a stock car? I checked the tire calculator and it is an almost perfect match to stock. Is there another tire I should be looking at that is around the same price?
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
That size is going to balloon out a little bit. I got 195/60/15 and they're perfect on the narrow steelies. Wider, but doesn't hurt steering response as much as 205/60/15 (my g/f had this size yokohamas). Those falkens are probably the best in their pricerange, but I ponied up a little more for my Bridgestone Potenza RE950's, $309 with a coupon at Costco installed. The falkens have a softer sidewall than my potenzas, did you want more of a cushy ride or more towards performance?
I'm in the same boat man.. and I can't decide between 195/60R15's or 205/60R15's too
I mean, I've got Si (Canadian) 15x6.5(?) rims and want a wider tire without it looking funny on narrow rims. I've heard some people putting the 205's on this rim no problem, but others have said you're gonna have to find a specialty place to do it for you. I'm getting Falken Ziex Ze-512's as well

hmmm 205/60/15 sounds a litttttttttttttttttle too thick to me...
my next set of tires are gonna be (205/50/15) cuz I like how they sit a little lower.
why don't you try 205/55/15 ??

205/60/15 pretty much "looks" like the stock tire size but more large overall, exclude si models. if your not worrying about looks, then 205/60 might be your choice, but if you want to go a little slimmer, and get less handles than 205, then 195/60/15 should be a good choice just for daily driving, commuting, getting around, etc.
sickboy, where did you get your coupon for the costco discount on potenza RE950s? im considering the same tires. let me know how they are..

hey man, definately go with 195/60/15...that is what I am running on 15" stock alloys.I have falken ze-512's - smooth.....you can check the tire calc 195's are a perfect fit...205 is off a bit...and too wide in my opinion....
