Spare Tire Problem?

I have a regular sized tire I am using for a spare tire, it is the stock tire that came on my 02 ex coupe when I bought it, And every time I fill the tire up with air and put it back into my trunk, 2-3 weeks later, all the air is gone in the tire. Now I took it up to a shop to have them check for leaks, and they said they cant find any leaks. They dipped it into there solution and there were no bubbles and everything was fine. SO what could be causing this? Does it have anything to do with the fact that the tire just sits in the trunk for long periods of time or what?

Check the valve stem core. If its loose, its probably slowly leaking air. You need a tool for it, they sell it at Napa, etc... for about $2. Best bet, just replace the core, its about $2 for a pack of 5 of them.

CRX_Becca is on a distinguished road
If you ever get another full-size spare, be sure to rotate it into use when you rotate your tires... my spare sat unused on the back of the V for God-knows how long and last month when I was driving back from Huntington Beach, the tread blew and caused about $500 worth of front end damage. Rotating should keep it in better condition than just stowing it away for an emergency.

Well I have falken ze-512 tires on there, and I just use this incase any of them go out. If one does, then I will have to order another.

Boilermaker, they said they checked that for leaks using the solution and said it was fine also. I think I will take it somewhere else and see what someone else says.

So I need to buy the tool and the valve stems, correct? And also do you have to let all the air out first before you remove it?

And what is the precuedure for replacing the valve stems, and what is the precedure for replacing the valve core? Just trying to get an idea so I can do this myself all the time in the future.
