Brakes are going?
im gettin this pretty bad squeeking/high pitched noise when i have been braking lately. in fact, i just noticed it today. i think it may be time to replace the front brake pads.
does anyone know if i need to replace the rotors too if i replace the pads? i dont really care to get any of those slotted/drilled rotors, i am perfectly fine with my OEM ones. i also plan on just getting OEM replacement pads too since i dont really acre to have performance ones, nor do i need them. anyone know how much the stock pads cost and what the best place to get them would be?
one last thing. i was reading through the DIY's for this especially grey's one. do you know which step i would need to stop at in his if i just wanted to do the rotors? also, is this an easy DIY in general? i was able to do my springs myself, so if i can do that, will this be much harder?
here is grey's diy:

didnt check your DIY links but changing brakes is really easy.
no need to change rotors unless warped or you want too.
i need to pick up some brakes as well, im going back to OEM pads cause AEM's suck...

Well since you have rims as according to your ride, just look through them and examine the thickness of your pads and examine your rotors. Check to see if the rotors have grooves in them and what not. I recommend replacing them because you get the most out of your brakes each time you replace them. That is MO. Also if you want to go with OEM pads, just pic them up at the dealer. If you can install your springs, then the pads will be a breeze. I did it for the first time about 2 months ago, and It was so easy. Just remove a few bolts, and pop everything in place. I recommend afterwards that you get your brakes bleeded somewhere.

i just went to honda and since i had a 22500 mile checkup recently and the breaks left in the front were 60% and rear 90% they said that wasnt the problem. they said it was most likely rust that was creating the noise. either rust in the drum or on the pads.
