Just remember if you get something with a lip, the rim will look at least 1" smaller at first glance because of that. People thought my Subzeros were 16's (they were actually 17's) cause of the contrast between polished lip and spokes. For a black ride, I myself would get the Subzeros in at LEAST 16", royal black, royal bronze, or royal gunmetal (in that order). The polished lip will really set it off. The slipstreams look better if you want to stay in a smaller size, like 15 or 16. I'd try to get them in bronze or gunmetal for a black car. Actually, Rota's gunmetal is very very dark, almost black.
Yes, unless you don't care about your rims, you should change them to steelies or stocks in the winter, especially if salt is laid on the roads in your town. As well, most performance tires are summer only...I'd be extremely fortunate to get my car up the driveway on my Kumho 712's (OK so those aren't exactly PERFORMANCE tires, lol).

Circuit 10's and Tarmac 2 rock as well.
I love Rota, gotta support the Filpino businesses...but WTF were the thinking with THIS:

I mean, I love my red, but a split-4? Ew!

I've got 17" Rota Subzeros in Royal Gunmetal (Polished Lip). I'm riding on Kumho 712 215/40/17.
Telly's got a good point - at first glance my wheels look smaller than they actually are, like 16"s or something. But the polished lip on a dark rim look is awesome - had lots of compliments and looks...

Rota used to make wheels for some of the bigger companies like Enkei, then started off on their own. They still make em for other guys though. IMO they've come into their own, their rims are fantabulous.
I've got a bit of a newbie question... I'm looking at the 16x7" Rota Slipstreams with 215/50/16 tires or the 17x7.5" Subzeros with 215/45/17 tires...
How much do I have to worry about rubbing, on the inside of the car? Will there be enough clearance?
And, will there be any problems with the 7 inch wide rims, with 215mm (8.5") wide tires on them, or is that pretty normal?

There have been many situations where had i had a different set of rims on my car when i hit a bump, i would have pancaked, or damaged the rim.
Rotas are a strong ***, lightweight wheel.
Wouldn't have it any other way.

3 reasons why I have slipstreams Vs actual Spoon SW388s..
1. Cheep (These are my race wheels)
2. Light (not as light as the spoons)
3. They come in 15X7...
Simply put, the Spoons arnt worhth the $$ because they are only 6.5" wide...
now to quote a SCCA Solo 2 national Champion (CSP).. "I'd rather run a heavy wide wheel then a Light Narrow one".
Why would he rather run a 13 LB 15X7 vs a 9.8LB 15X6.5......
Think about it for a while.... PM me if you want to know the reason why....
