Talking new wheels for new civic =D

hello everyone on 7thgencivic! i'm new here, w/ my first post and all...
today i just got my 2004 civic ex in the new magnesium color, and what a beauty she is! her stock rims aren't to my liking so i am planning on ordering new ones asap. i need some opnions on color choices to match the paint (im thinking silver or gunmetal with a polished lip), and good wheel brands. this may seem like a broad question since the possibilities could be endless, but im looking to go with 18'' wheels. my limit for price is no more than 350 a wheel. i need a good wheel with quality finish and strength against the occasional pothole. thanks in advance with any suggestions

I've always wanted to see 18" Velox VX 8 wheels on our color of a car....i think they would look nice...there gunmetal with a polished lip. But ummm what size are you looking into?

haha whoops ...i kinda skim over posts nowadays. Thanx though. the VX 8 kinda look like the Circuits haha..to some people that is...but yea to bad they don't....i didn't wnat 18's anymore though cause of the speedfactor because eventually im gonna get my frigging turbo!

But anyways another set of rims maybe ummm....some kinda ADR's maybe i also like the Veolx VX 6's to you should look into those to. Hopefully you make a wise choice though...really think about your rim and tire setup cause it can effect your car drastically. I mean the way it looks to.

thanks for the advice modify. i looked into the adr's and found the sokudo 8, gunmetal with polished lip...very nice too, they seem to have a lighter gunmetal color than the velox vx8. how are the quality of adr's and velox? i think this is my final choice between these 2, although still curious on how silver wheels would look on magnesium. any recommendations as to where to purchase these wheels online would be awesome. thanks in advance

I'll donate my two cents.

Those sodukos are a hot rim. Personally, I'm kind of **** about my car, so if I bought rims to match and they weren't the exact same color, I'd have a fit. I would go with the silver for a nice contrasting color.

You could take a pic of your car, or any magnesium one to the photochop forum and have them put both of those wheels on your car. It'll help you make your decision as it has helped many other people on here.

IMO for your car I would NOT get the sokudos in gunmetal. In real life the color is too close to that of your car & would clash!! BUT they also make that wheel in a gun-black that I think would look hot!!

thanks for the links mr.modify, ill start checking them all out now

white2K2EX, i never even thought about sending some pix of the car and wheels to the photochop forums, sounds like a great idea! maybe i can get some pix of my car taken today

gaugeof12, i couldnt quite input what you said, but the sokudo 8 gunmetal color wouldnt look right with my car because it almost matches the magnesium? i know its your opinion, but i thought it look nice
that gunblack color rocks though

What he is saying is that if two colors are close, but not matching, they clash.

hey guys i have some updated info on my wheels selection.

the velox vx-8 i want is 18x7.5 with a 40mm offset, would i rub with a 215/40/18 tire and a 1.5-2 inch drop?

the sokudo 8 is an 18x7.5 wheel with 42mm offset, would i rub with the same tire and drop range?
