Hawk or Axxis ultimates brake pads?
I have narrowed it down too these 2 brake pads, hawk hps or axxis ultimates, but I am not sure which to get. I have ebc greenstuff right now and arent really happy with them. They fade too quick, the dust doesnt bother me, but they arent really rotor friendly. Now which of these 2 do you all recomend. With my braking, I am looking for little fade, great stopping power, but I also get my brakes pretty hot. This will be for street use only. I guess I am hard on my brakes.

Axxis are good for about 1000, maybe more. I have them on my car right now. They bite HARD and don't give up, my only beef with them is they're dusty, but I don't care too much about that.
IM hard on my brakes too I guess, plus heavy rims, but the AEM's kinda suck...But, Im thinking about going to the AEM big brake kit for a coupe hundred dollars. LOL
I was going to go Axxis originally but needed brakes ASAP and they were on back order...

are you sure its the pads that are fading, or are you boiling the brake fliud?? becasue the EBC green stuff is suppose to be good untill over 1000 DEG.

when you say Went fast, do you mean that they wore out quickly?
Brake fade is when you are using the brakes a lot and as they get hot (Really hot with High performance pads) they lose their friction and you get little to no stopping power out of them. Pedal feel should remain the same, but you need to press harder to get the same amount of stopping power. Boiling the brake fluid is a different kind of fade. Thats when the pedal starts to feel like a sponge, and you get Less braking power due to the creation of Air pockets from the fluid boiling. Pad Fade can be dealtwith pretty easily. just brake less, untill the pads./rotors have cooled down enough to work again. Boiling the brake fluid requres you to Blead the lines to clear the air from the brake system...
The easiest way to get ATE SuperBlue/type 200 is from the internet...
Heres where I got mine You'll only need to get 1 Can but pick up 2 just in case. on $14.00 a Liter.

HP+ are good pads, but for most people unnessisary (just like all the 1000 DEg pads..)
the HPS is a good street pad. The HP+ are designed for Street and Light Track, more then what most people need.

It is not hard to do. I have been online(7thgencivic) reading about it for about two weeks now. I have jacked up my car and taken the caliper and rotor apart to have an idea what is going on. It is pretty easy and you should've have a problem. Look at Grey's or Boiler's DIYS and you will be fine.

Axxis ultimates are good to around 1000 Deg. and "normal" street drivng brake temps are easily in the sub 500 Deg range, probably closer to 200 to 300.

They are a good street/track pad. question is, do you need a 1000 Deg Pad? Because High temp pads arn't exactly known for being rotor friendly.
