Did anyone ever remove the "slider" pins?

I did not phrase my previous question properly. The slider pins I am having trouble with are the ones the caliper slides on, not the bolts that actually hold the caliper on. I pulled the pins out of the "torque member" ( the piece you have to remove to get the discs of which the caliper rests on); I find it almost impossible to put the slide pins back into the bracket. One of the pins has a tiny rubber gasket on the bottom of it, and the other one is a regular one. It seems like I always get air trapped in the bottom ove it, and when i try and force the oins in, they won't go in all the way. But if i don't put grease on them, they go in fine, but I HAVE to put grease on them in order for them to function properly no? Any suggestions?

Thanks
