steelies actual weight..
I just put the stock steelies on an electronic scale and they are 40 lbs each with the hubcaps on...

That's way too heavy. I bet you weighed them with tires on, right?

I believe the stock steelies weigh about 18lbs, and the SI 7 spoke rims are a couple lbs less.

Guys, my bad . That is true, the tire is on, I forgot to specify that. This weight is for the rim and tire.

I wonder how much the stock 14" steelies weigh, without the tire. That's what I have on my car now for the winter, and then 15" alloys in the summer.

I bet those 14" rims make the car faster. I actually have the stock 15" steelies sitting in the room, but no scale. Maybe I'll get one later.
