will 215/45/17 tires rub with lowering springs?
Hi All, I have 215/45/17 Kumho Ecstas on my 01 Civic Sedan, and was plannning to lower the car with lowering springs (sport springs with a fixed drop size/not coil overs). Has anyone out there run a configuration like this and do the tires rub? If it rubs, does it rub only with full passengers or even when driving alone?
i have goldline springs on my sedan..i have 205-45-17 falkens...i had to roll my back fender inorder to adjust my camber right....i am tucking in the back ..i think you could fit it..u might just have to roll your back fenders though...

I scrubbed BAD when i lowered. I went about 2-2.25" or so, on my Tein SS and couldnt even drive it, cause i didnt wanna raise it up.
I went out the next day and bought new Yoko's in 205/40/17 and then cut out a small amount of my real fender and rolled it (had all done at shop).
BECAREFUL! Everyone told me Id be fine, etc. and I was definately not.....It sucked ***.

i dunno about what u got, but i got some 215/45/17 and i just put them on and i look down above my rims and i can see the tire from straight above the fender. they stick out a few mm. If i were to lower my car, theyd be ripping up my fender for sure. I dunno whether its just my motegi mr7's cuz they have spacers on them or waht, but i dont think im dropping. there pretty snug at regular height cuz there like maybe 1.75 or so from the fender. thats room for bumps and all. the body kit adds some length so it keeps it snugger looking then plain stock. the body kit kinda curves so taht worrys me on top, but i might drop. i'd definitelly need wide fenders or like an inch rolled. seriously...
When I bought my rims (Eagle Alloy 193s) I went with the 215/45/17 tires because I didn't plan on lowering, and the profile of the tire didn't look that bad to me (this wheel/tire config looked good on stock IS300s). The gap doesn't bother me much, but as I keep looking at the car it seems like it would look better slammed, plus help with cornering. Maybe I shoulda went with 205/40/17 tires and I wouldn't have run into this issue. Now I'm curious to find out what the offset of my rims are...
my drop is around 1.5-1.75. i had some 17 velox and the offset was 40 and they rubbed. somebody said anything 42+ is good. but, i know for sure 45 offset does not rub with neuspeed sport springs.
