The 512s are a high performance all season tire, and the ST115 is a high performance summer tire. so It could be said that the ST115 will have better dry traction and the 512 will have better wet traction.

thanks, i was kind of leaning towards the st 115 because it is supposedly really quiet and has a higer treadwear rating, not im kind of thinking the 512s after the rain we have seen in san diego

It all depend what your trying to do. If your looking for the best daily tire, the best falken would be the fk-451, those are great tires and will last longer than both azenis and ziex.
Its a good looking tire to.

The Azenis ST115 has two nice, deep channel in the middle of the tire. I would assume this is a better rain tire then the Ziex 512. My bro just forked out a little more for the ST115 because of the better treadlife and looks.
You might want to look at the Visa, which is a company that is involved with Falken and has a tire with a 360 treadlife rating. Plus its cost is much less.

i thought the falken st 115 are better a value treadwear rating of 360 rather then 300 like the ziex, and all the same features even better ones like the rim protector, the little capsiles that suck up sound, and all of that were they were only a dollar more , that is why they seemed so good to me, all this i got from http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...odeIndex=28713

I'm not sure about the capsules, but I've heard about them. Just dunno if it's used in both or only in the ST115.
But I can tell you from experience, that both the Ziex and ST115 have the rim protector. Also from experience, I think the rim protector is a nice idea, but I think it makes the wheels look kinda ugly. If your going to hit the curb in 17s, you'll probably curb rash it anyways.
If you need tires, I go to a place in Hacienda Heights where I just recently got ST115 in 215/45/17 for $390 installed.
