17" rims and Yokohama racing tires.

At present, I'm driving a stock coupe and it's quiet on the roads. If I put a set of 17" rims with low profile tires will I hear an increased road noise and will the car start jumping on uneven roads. I don't want to lower my car as there are too many speed ramps near my home.

Sorry, if these are silly questions, but i don't know anything about wheels and tires.

HondaLuver will become famous soon enough
yes... with smaller tires you run the risk of bending a rim and more road noise and and if you are worried about height, just get 215/45/17 tires, alot of people have said that they are fine.,.. and i think it was a 1.3 drop in front and 1.5 in the back, would look clean

About road noise, that depends on the tire. The stock Firestones are loud IMHO. Read the reviews at Tirerack.com and check out what peeps say about tire noise. Becareful when selecting the size, 215 can be kinda wide with the wrong drop and wheel offset. Pretty much any 205 tire and common offsets are usually fine.

The wheel and tires I'm Planning on getting are Yokohama 215/45ZR17 whatever that means as I'm buying from a friend. Do you think they'll handle the car well and be quiet both on highways and around town.

I drove the Y2K civic coupe these wheels and tires are on today and drove straight without wheel shake although the car seemed to jump around a little on slightly uneven patches on the road. Is this normal on these size of tires or is it the car?

The guy who owns the car said thats why he wants to change back to 15 inch rims and tires for safety reasons and to reduce road noise.

What do you guys think? Should i buy them to make the car look good?
