Hi guys,

I'm about to buy a set of wheels. They're 17 x 7 and have 38mm offset, deepdish.
My question is what's the best tyre size? My car is civic 2001 sedan, and I'll have it dropped super low.
Will 215/45 rub? or should I go for 215/40? Any other suggestion?

Thanks a lot.

Define superlow.
Honestly I think you're going to have issues no matter what tire you choose if its slammed. I'm running +37 offsets with 215/45/17, it needs a 3 finger gap to clear the fender lips. I guess you can gauge it from there.

Thanks
So, offset 38mm is not good for lowering.
Will 205/40/17 help? What's the standard offset from factory? My car use 14" and it's not an alloy wheel.

Cheers.

Superlow = 1 finger between tyre and fender lip.
extreme low = tyre is inside

Those will for sure rub on your fender, with a +38mm offset the tire and wheel will be even with the outside of the fender...not good. My suggestion is to find a wheel with a +42mm to +45mm offset then you can safley run a 205/45-17 tire and have your speedometer read correctly.

Thanks for your suggestion. Lucky I haven't bought those wheels.
Too bad.. I like the deep dish style though. Is there any deep dish with offset 42mm?

Axis offers a WheelsiteMesh 2 wheel that has around a 2" lip depending on size, try looking into those.
