rubbing with 15x7 +33 offset? w/oem tires
rubbing with 15x7 +33 offset? w/oem tires
I've have a set of 5Zigen FN-01R-C 15x7 +33 for my Scion xB. Will these wheels fit on my girlfriends completely stock 03 Civic sedan EX? I don't know much about Honda fitment except that they usually have high offsets like +38 to +45. I'm guessing, 205 or 215 wide tires might rub, but maybe with the OEM tires (185/65/15), the stretched tires might fit better?
Any experience with this? or opinions?
thanks...

33 offset is going to stick out the sides, you're correct about the 38-45 offsets. If the xB bolt pattern is 4x100 they'd theoretically fit on the car, but they're not going to look right.

So what do you mean by "stick out the sides"? That might be the look I am going for!
On a 03 Civic Sedan, what is the ideal offset to get a 15x7 wheel flush with the fender?

Flush to the fender, 37mm

By stick out the sides, I mean they're not going to fit in the fenders.
That stupid euro trend of streching the sidewalls way out on a rim they shouldn't fit on is a great way to ruin tires and rims.

As for the euro look, no need to hate. To each their own, right? I wasn't planning on stretching the tires past their limit anyways. Unfortunately, after checking the specs on the Civic's OEM Firestones, the max wheel width the 185/65's will take is 6.5in, oh well.
Just for the heck of it, I might test fit the Civic with the Scion OEM Goodyear Eagles (185/60 max width=7in) - should be about 3% smaller. I'll try to post pics....

Honestly, on the right car, if not over done it looks ok, but that doesn't mean its good. Balloon tires look like ***, but they won't get you killed either. Sacrificing safety in the sake of something looking cool is counterproductive. You wanna go 1 size beyond, it probably won't overstrech the tire (I.E. a 185 on a 7") but make sure you got a stiff tire to do it with.
