Question about steel brake lines?
I have heard that if I replace my brake lines with stainless steel ones, that it will improve the pedal travel. Is this true? What I mean is with the steel lines, you dont have to push the brake pedal so far to the floor. Does it improve braking?

It doesnt improve braking, but you will ge better feed back from the pedal. (so you can feel what the brakes are doing, for better threashold braking and modulation).

I am still wondering what I can do to get a better brake feel? I hate having to push the pedal all the way to the floor. My friend has a corolla and I drove it a yr ago and whenever I just barely pushed the brake, I would stop so fast. It was amazing.

whens the last time you had your brakes bled? IF you cant remember, now is the time. (you shoud have your brakes bled at least once a year). That should give you some pedal feel back.

Not really, but it is a 2 person job.
Pick up a brake bleeding kit a an automotive shop, it will be a little tube and a container for the fluid.

the easyist way to do a good job of bleeding is:
get a friend to pump the pedal twice and hold it down,
then open the bleeder screw for a second then close and heve your friend let up on the pedal (wait until the screw is closed or you can suck air back in). then repeat until only solid fluid comes out of the tube. between each wheel check and top off the master cylinder resivoir. i can't rember the wheel order for our cars i think it's left front, right front, right rear, left rear. i left the book at school with the bleed sequence, but i think thats it. hope this helps

I was tought to bleed the line farthest fromt the master cylinder first.
So that would be Right rear, leftrear, Right Front, Left front.

If the pedal is soft/spongy feeling, then you probably need to bleed the brakes, if it takes alot of pressure to get good braking then upgrading to a better pad/shoe should do the trick.
