spare tire

I was driving this past weekend and was slippin and slidin, when i got the car outta the snow pile, the front right tire was flat, so I have the spare on it right now.

Question is how long will that last? I'm at college and need the car to get around.

You're not really supposed to use it like a tire. Its just to get you home when it happens and then to get you to a tire place to fix it. I wouldn't drive around on it for too long, especially in the snow. Go get the real one patched and put back on.

Not necessarily. If there's relatively low miles on them, you can just change 1. If a lot of miles, you'll need 2 to match across the axle.

If you replace 2 of them, you can get any 2 tires you want. You just need the same tire on the axle (front right must match front left and rear right must match rear left).

If you want to stop slipping and sliding in the snow, DO NOT get those same Firestones again! Have you ever thought that maybe you were sliding in the first place due to those death-trap tires?

And for some insane reason, those crappy Firestones are actually quite expensive. You can get much better tires at lower prices than those firestones.
