anyone know if a 235/40/17 tire would rub?

Nope 235 is the biggest you can go on a vic anything bigger and itll rub i had 235/40/18 once upon a time it was a wids *** tire for my vic anyways

Were you dropped at all? The widest I have heard on a 7th gen was a 225, and that still had some issues.
