i'm getting rims. help please :)

ok. so i've narrowed it down between 17" or 18". i have a 03' coupe, and i am not going to put a bodykit on it. this will also be my daily driver. i don't want to spend alot of money on replacing tires, and would like to lower it just enough to make it look clean. if i lower it, will have to get springs as well a camber kit ? i'm guessing...if i don't lower it too much, i probably be able to get away without having to buy a camber kit? what do you guys/gals think? i know there's probably alot of threads on this type of topic, but please go easy. i'm really exicted, i've been saving for days.....

IMO,

Eibach springs and 18's makes for a ok ride that has a very nice look

My 2001 EX coupe was lowered with H&R springs (about 1.5" drop) and I had 18's with 215/35-18 tires, I drove it daily and had no problems. You should be fine with 18's as long as you are careful. But with a 17" wheel and a 215/45-17 tire you will have a little thicker sidewall and a smoother ride. So the choice is yours.

I would also get a camber kit for the rear at least to save your tires. They will wear much more evenly and it will allow the whole tire to contact the road so it will be safer.

i'm leaning more towards the 17"s for the following reasons...

1. smoother ride
2. tires are cheaper
3. for some odd reason... the few civics i've seen with 18's, the rims look TOO BIG for the
car and it looks funny.
4. 18's=more $$$ 17's=save $$$

True, 18s and larger look goofy without a body kit. 17s are sporty!
