Worried about winter driving

do you guys ever get worried about driving in the terrible snow with your crappy stock tires? i ahve already spun my car once this year, while not doing any damage, and hit an ice patch last year and slid into a mailbox. what i worry about most is since i have almost no tread left is having to come to a stop up a hill and when i get going the car just slides backwards because the tires are just spinning in the snow/ice. anyone else think about anything like this?

maybe its time to do everyone a favour and get snow tires. seriously, if your tyres are that bad, you're just going to be a hazard on the road. im sure you can pick up a cheap set of snows ... my not allow you to do spirited winter driving, but least you'll be planted on the road.

but above all the snow tyre bying decisions, best thing you should do is adopt to the conditions.

Seriously dump those Firestones. I had them for 2 winters, it is the slowest I have ever driven in my life. I also didnt drive unless I didnt have to. Now I bought some Bridgestone Blizzak's. A world of difference. I just wish we would get some hella snow here in MN. Nothing like they got out east. I want that now to have some more fun with the Blizzaks.

You're an accident waiting to happen by running on bald Firestones in winter.

Even if those Firestones were brand new, you should still get winter tires. Those are some of the worst tires in existence.

Don't be a hazard to yourself and other motorists, get a set of decent winter tires.
