i came across a set of 15" Rota Slipstreams for sale. They have 205/45/15 Nitto 450s on them. I've never seen anybody put so thin of a tire on 15's. I was going to use them in daily driving. Do you guys think that these would be ok, especially considering winter is coming and all. I checked the tire-calculator and everything, but to a newbie like me, that's of little use. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Rep Power: 357 I run 205/50-15s for my Autocross Race tires. 45s would be even better..... But not nessisairly for street driving.
The issue lies in how far off the speedometer will be.
If you have an EX (like me) the your spedometer will read 9% too fast.
I.E. if your speedo says you are going 70mph you actually are going 63mph. if you have a Non EX, then its only 8.12% to fast = 64mph
This "short" tire will be great for acceleration, but you will lose a bit of top speed and your gas milage will suffer.

Rep Power: 0 since i've read some of your posts zzyzx, i figured acceleration would be better, but that i would lose top speed. my only problem here is that it's going to get snowy and icy, and these might not be optimal for that kind of weather. i didn't take into account that smaller tires would rack miles on faster. hmmmm..... so, in essence, these would not be recommended for daily (30+) street driving. thanks for your input guys.

Rep Power: 259 You would get more wheel gap also. In my case, I have a long commute to work everyday so that size tire would raise my RPMs and eat more fuel, so it wouldn't be a good idea. I plan on getting slipstreams and a 205/60/15 tires sometime next year BTW. Hope any of this helps. If not, I'm sure the great helper Zzyzx will be back
