Thumbs down 17's way to heavy.

I just put back on my steelie's for the winter and I put my 17's on the sacel and they came up as 45 pounds!! With tires on they are maad heavy. I was wondering if it would be worth it to invest in some lighter rims. How heavy are the average wheels that people get. Im just trying to get a feel for how heavy they really are.

I'm getting some 15" 12lb rims and I just found out the tires I'm getting are 18.4lbs, so that's about 30lbs for the rim and tire together.

I was going to keep my stock wheels and just get new tires, but I found an awesome deal on these rims and since they're so light weight I figured I would get them.

Yes they are but they make up for it in traction......

I believe the 205/50-15's are around 20-22 lbs.

combined with my slipstreams they come out to about 32-33 lbs.... Imagin what they would be on the stock steel wheels......

BTW, I absolutly LOVE those tires.

Don't forget stockies weigh ~18lbs plus ~22lbs tires = ~40lbs of crap. If only I had money..

Ya, heavie as crap. You will definitly notice a difference in performance between a wheel/tire combo of 40+ lbs vs 30LBS.

Just think of the difference of going from 45lbs per wheel to 30lbs per wheel, thats 15lbs per wheel droped (30 LBS of less wheight that the enginge has to get to spin) and 60LBS of less weight in total! You would DEFINITLY feel the difference.

edoprasetyo is an unknown quantity at this point
try Advan wheels along with the bridgestone SO2A
17" feels like 14"
They made this wheel especially for racing
so it'd be very light
