Falken ziex 512 review
not long.
paid 96 each at www.whalentires.com
these tires are great for all season. good grip. very nice in rain.
360 A A Z rated.
High Performance All Season
Size: 215/45R17
The ZE-512 also has a ri protection ridge to help pretect expensive custom wheels
Overall this tire feels safer and more stable to daily drive on than stock, these tires are good for daily drive.
price=10
DRY-GRIP: 10
WET-GRIP: 9
QUALITY: 9
By irrational
They the lightest of all tires that i was looking at couple months ago. people are so concerned about the weight of their rims they forget about the weight of tires duh... the tire is actually more important due to it being even further away from the center of rotation. here are some weights I got for 215-45-17:
Yokohama ES100 - 23.1 lbs
Toyo T1-S - 20.1 lbs
Falken GRB 451 - 24.3 lbs
Falken Ziex 512 - 19.8 lbs
Kumho Ecsta Supra - 23.0 lbs
Kumho Ecsta MX - 21.0 lbs

I always thought 215/45 were too fat for our cars and would look funny unless you had a kit... And the wieghts, thats for 215/45/17 tire size? How much did you get the for?

On the SI it looks fine. On the EX it still kinda looks too fat for me. Well I think my next set of tires will be 205/45/17. That way the sidewall height will be between 205/40 and 215/45... You think the Falkens are better than the Kumho Ecsta Supras?

Although ive read many reviews, those tires seems to have great reviews. but yea 205/45/17 would be nice too.

more feedbacks from these tires would help! so let me know you guys!...

i got them in 215/40/16 and they are just fine. real quiet compared to the toyo proxies fz4 i had before. they whistled a whole lot. these are real quiet just like stock when in rain. the toyos were outrageously loud. they look decent and are good traction. never slip.
Just got em Falken ze 512's on my vic, I like em! size 195/60/15. 420 treadwear rating(they make them in 65, 60, 55, 50, 45, 40....longer treadwear and last longer than the 55 and lower series, 65, 60 get longer treadwear)
First thing I noticed was a smoother ride(I had the stock firestones), much quieter, and smooth, softer ride, I flew through the costco parkling lot and checked the cornerin, they hold real good. I like em lots! I paid $38 a tire at vulcantire.com !
I got em put on at costco (mounted and balanced, torqued correctly) for $42 total. I had em put my old tires in my truck (I said I wanted them and they usually throw them away for you - $2 a tire disposal fee (rip off). I took all 4 tires to a place here (kinda sketchy place, but I always sell my wheels, tires, used there- there was a pitbull roaming around on a chain, and it is down a dirt road , but $70 cash for my 4 stock tires (they had 45,000 miles on them) I got my ze-512's on pretty good deal!
I say they are good tires and look sporty too. I will see how they wear
