summer tires in winter

what happens to summer tires if used under 50 F? i live in mississippi, and we dont get snow and it only stays under 50 for a month or two. Does the rubber just get harder or are there permanent damages?

They should be fine... its more the tread than anything else... they're not designed for use in snow/slush/ice. So as long as it stays dry or rainy, its fine.

what he said....
its all tread design. thats primairly what seperates a wet traction tire form a all season tire from a Summer tire.
