weird feeling when press brakes
when i press my brakes, like i have to suddenly stop, or even if its not TOO suddenly, my steering wheel moves, like it does a sharp "turn" if that makes since, like it'll go left real fast then right real fast, etc. i have to hold it real tight to keep it straight in the lane. (this is only when i am coming to a stop). does that mean i need my wheels aligned or rotated or something (i have 17's, maybe that has something to do) and i also have new brakes, so i know that isnt it. help

you know what that happens to me to sometimes!! but that's only when i'm speeding and then try to make like a kinda quick stop!!! my wheels start pulling fast to the left or right so i knowwhat your talking about ....but it really doesn't affect me.....Try making a left or right turn and then your steering wheel doesn't turn the wheels at all and you continue straight on while there's another car turning in the same direction as you now that **** sucks cause i gotta slam the brakes so i won't hit them.!!!!

Sounds like a brake problem, though it could also be tires. Even though you have new brake pads and shoes doesnt mean the rest of the brake system is functioning correctly. Could be a stuck caliper or warped rotor or drum.
If your tires have broken bands or a bulge on the tread pattern it can produce what they call radial pull. Its when your car will pull to one side. To test for this you can simply swap the front and rear tires around, then test drive. Also it you have wider tires it can give you the feeling that your car is pulling more than normal over skinnier stock tires due to the wider footprint. This is most noticable when braking on uneven roads.
I wouldnt wait to long to have this problem check out. In an emergency brake situation it could be quite difficult to control your car.

Where did you go to get it aligned? I hear wheel works is a good place. Did you get a sheet that showed your alignment results? Your toe could be off badly.

that usualy isnt a problem until you get over a 245 like 255's is were it starts and gets worse from there. anything under a 245 if inflated , wearing properlly shouldnt be a prob. unless the tire is pretty beat, or the roads are crap, or both

no you don't need an alignment right after you get wheels. I mean you can do it but it really isn't necessary. The wheels should be properly balanced. First check the tire pressures on both sides, then if that doesn't help, swap the front and rears. If that doesn't help then you should probably take it to an alignment shop to adjust some stuff.
