17's or 18's w/ Eibach Prokit
I have a 2003 Silver 2dr EX and was looking into getting RH Evolution GT5 in gunmetal, my only problem is whether to get 17" or 18". I would get 215 45 17 w/ the 17's and 215 40 18 w/ the 18's. I called a place and they told me that the 17's weigh 23lbs and the 18's weigh 27lbs. I am worried about losing too much power. I had a 99 2dr EX w/ 17 Axis Touring Cups that lost a little power, but when I added AEM CAI it evened it back out. I will be adding the CAI in the future, but not going to go all out on the car. It is a daily driver that I drive to work and back everyday. Please help and thanks in advance. Also if anyones has any suggestions for other wheels to consider, but I like the simple 5 spoke style.
PS, I have read a lot of the threads in this section, but hasn't helped yet so I thought I would just ask.

seems like your care about losing power with heavier rims
go with 15s!! cheaper tire. cheaper rims.lighter
looks great on dropped ride. i dont see why not
just my opinion.
its up to you really.. i got 17s because looked better and i dont care about performance on civic

exactly...if u are really that worried about performance why go big rims?...stick with lightweight 15's....and if u really want bigger rims go 17's....alittle better ride

I am not into racing, I just don't want to lose any of the power it has right now. I want at least 17's, my question really is how much power will be lost with 18's, and can I gain most of it back with simple add-ons like CAI and maybe header and exhaust later on. I am more for looks than power, but don't want the car to be real slow.

If your just doing simple bolt-ons then your really not concerned with performance. Since you more for looks, i'd go with 18's because they will fill your wheel well better, thus look better.
Go with 17's and as for the rims......nothing and i mean NOTHING, beats the Mille Miglia Action Sports. The ones in the anthracite color. Its just a fancy way of saying gun metal. Check em out!!
