Tire noise
i just purchased four new 205/40WR-17 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 tires from tire rack and i have noticed that they can be quite loud. they seem to have great traction and are very noisy. is this normal? could there be a problem? what is recommended to fix this?
I need TP for my bunghole

some tires are like that because of the traction pattern.
In time the tire will wear a little and the noise will wear down a little.
Check www.epinion.com and see if there are reviews for the tires.

Just to be sure, how many miles have you put on the car since the last alignment?
If it has been something like 20,000 and you don't plan on lowering your car in the next 1,000 miles, you would be wise to get a 4-wheel alignment if you haven't done so. Get that caster, camber, and toe-in set now to protect those brand new tires!
Just checking

Yup, i was looking at 545 for the shocks, and with install, like around 750 total (for shocks+install)
EDIT:
U figure 545 for shocks
200 (more or less) with install
200--300 on springs
945 (more or less) for everything, might as well just get coilovers at a good price for around 950-1000

there are KONI's but you have to cut the front struts tops off and insert the koni unit, and te rear is a whole replacement. see diy section.
Other companies have yet to make strut / shock last I checked. if you find some post it here.
But, the are a great full adjustable coil overs out. like jic magic, tien ss and B+G.
Yah it might cost a "G" to get the ride lowered but you'll have a great ride with adjustable damping and ride height. unlike springs your stuck with the height and ride.
Plus honda struts and shocks SUCK BIG ELEPHANT ***!

tire noise
Your tires are probably designed for performance rather
than for quietness. The grand touring type of tires are
very quiet and good in the wet. The quietness comes
from a (virtually) solid stripe down the center of the tire.
Performance tires are more aggressive in the tread design.
Continental Conti 95's and Bridgestone Turanza are ex-
amples of quiet grand touring types. You can heavily
coat your wheel wells for a 50% reduction in sound.

Napa sells undercoating in spray cans. Just cover your wheel with a
cloth and spray coat the wheel well twice an hour apart. The first day
or two you will smell the creosote but will soon disappear.
