SI My car jump time about a month after I had it. And I ended up driving it for 2 months in limp mode. Got horrible gas mileage could barely keep it running at stop lights. You know how that goes..... Well I finally did the timing belt by myself. Took me 3 days lol. I know shouldn't take that long but it did and ever since the car has run like a brand new freaking machine I baby it every time I drive it well I decided the one thing I need to be able to watch more than anything is oil pressure. So I bought an aftermarket gauge and here I am now. Finally, months later getting ready to install it after a trip to home Depot in about an hour worth of finding fittings. This is what I have a sandwich plate and a 4AN braided oil line has anyone else ever used the braided line for anything like I am
while cold, the pressure will show higher, drop when oil cold.
Idle, it will fluctuate
if it is still out, consider an oil temp gauge too.
Mind you, it takes like 20-30 minutes HWY for oil to get hot
(notes above are because the first time people use those for oil they get desperate with what they see. - above are normal, you simply did not see before
Where did you source the sandwich plate and the sending unit?? I like this idea! And completely agree about having a gauge vs. an "idiot" light. I've always added one to previous cars I've owned but always had trouble with the cheap plastic line that typically comes with those gauges (it kinks too easily). LOVE the braided line and having an electrical signal vs. routing oil into the cockpit through a needle-thin plastic hose!
