A/C Mag Clutch Replacement
A/C Mag Clutch Replacement
hi all, newbie here and this i my first post. what a great forum! thanks to some very knowledgeable folks here i was able to diagnose an a/c problem as a bad field coil in the compressor clutch. i'm hoping someone can recommend an after market vendor for a replacement coil and clutch. thanks in advance.
Re: A/C Mag Clutch Replacement
actually, finding a vendor is not the problem. there are plenty to choose from and the kits are not expensive.
but this is going to be a pita i don't want to have to do it again. so i'm hoping someone here can
recommend a vendor and product that they have had a positive experience with. thanks again.

Re: A/C Mag Clutch Replacement
ndnv, thanks for the thought and reply. unfortunately, the field coil has a break in the winding and will
have to be replaced. figured i might as well do the clutch while i'm at it. for no particular reason i
ordered one from these folks.
supposed to be made by this outfit here in the USA

they can be had cheaper by other vendors but hard to tell who and where they're made.
thanks again.

Re: A/C Mag Clutch Replacement
to follow up, the kit i bought has worked so far and there were no difficult problems with the install other
than the usual with the circlip/snap rings. fwiw, the snap ring pliers i ended up using were from OTC,
their part #0400 and worked really well.
