power steering fluid
power steering fluid
i have a 2006 honda civic 4 door with 65000 miles, one owner car very low miles and i drive average 4000 a year. the power steering is making a whining noise and there is a leak on my driveway but the reservoir shows its at full level. should i flush the system? if i was leaking PS fluid wouldn't the level be low? or what else is making that whining noise? my mechanic tells me i was low but its not low... maybe it needs a flush , its low miles but old ...any direction you can help me with very appreciate. thank you.
Re: power steering fluid
Does it make it when you are turning the steering wheel? If the leak is actually PS fluid then the level would go down. It could be oil or brake fluid though. Did your mechanic think the PS pump was bad or that the PS system was leaking?
