it’s sounds like there is an helicopter flying overhead, but under my hood.
08 civic SI , 180k miles, electronic PS, new alternator, new compressor, good oil level, new starter, any thoughts?

God I hope so, that would be a lot easier if a fix than anything else. I did push up against a parking barrier the other day, so that is a definite possibility, and other thoughts out there in the forum?

180k miles on the motor , it’s an off sound tho, not a click or a knock , kinda like a dull buzz or like, idk it’s hard to describe. The video is hard? It’s not following my RPMs too much, I cannot tell if they are correlated. Don’t listen in the video for when I am revving it, it subsided when revved. Listen in between, that isn’t background noise, it’s the car

When I put my ear near the top
of the motor it sounds more noticeable, but I cannot tell if it’s coming directly from from the motor or somewhere underneath. The accessory belt is not new but I checked it, looks good. The sound is getting a little more whiney toward day’s end. It almost seems to be coming from around the block or trans. Or just generally down in that area. Could be a perforation in the exhaust but I can’t find it if it is. Could it be a bad water pump? Any other symptoms of that besides a whine? I haven’t had any overheating issues yet. I don’t know I’m just spitballing here
