Best ECU for EK Boost build in 2023
Best ECU for EK Boost build in 2023
Hey everyone, I'm slowly figuring out this turbo build and although there is much information out their I haven't found something for what I'm exactly doing and what are the best options for current day. It seems like 'back in the day' the best option to turbo and OBD II EK was to get and OBD I ECU, preferably a P28, get a conversion harness and chip it with a Hondata S300. P28 ECU's right now are going for a few hundred dollars and the S300 is going for $600 before add-ons. I've seen some videos about the Haltech unit which got me interested but it does not look like there are any offerings for and OBDII EK. There is a seller who sells refurbished P91 which from my understanding are the JDM equivanlet of the P28. What do you guys think, should I pick up a P91 and a S300 in 2023?
Also, does anyone know any tuners in the Los Angeles area that work with Hondata?

Thanks! I also found some P28's rebuild online and found a tuner in Northern California that does remote tuning and work with Hondata! Got a spare block coming in too, going to build that one up for higher boost.
Re: Best ECU for EK Boost build in 2023
The Civic currently has a D15B block which I thought was worse due to the smaller displacement. I ended up purchasing a Y7 block that my plan was to build for boost so I can regain displacement and build this up but still have the current engine in to drive around.

The D15B block is the D series block used for boost. A lot of the high power cars use it.
