Unhappy I don't get swaps

Hello everyone, after a few days of internet browsing I've decided to finally throw the towel. I need some help from knowledgeable people so I figured this is the best place (I'll try hondaswap and hondaforums when I get back home probably).

I'm in the European second hand market for a 6th gen civic coupe from the year 2000. I have reached the conclusion that I must look for a unit with a D16Y8 under the hood. I'd eventually swap it to a B16A2, but I can only find swap content regarding the hatchback, one could assume the front end is similar enough so the content is "compatible". Are the B-series swaps I see online compatible with a coupe?

I can't enough of the rear of the coupe, but it feels as if the hatchback ate the coupe's internet presence. Or maybe I'm mistaken and we go back to my question, lol.

I just want to have a very clear path from the get-go, before spending money, logically.

Thank you everyone for reading.

Re: I don't get swaps

to my knowledge, the fronts are identical in the 6th gen Civic. I have a 2000 Civic 4 door sedan. Great car. The Accord front ends do differ, at least in some cases. This was due to both 4 and 6 cylinders being offered.

Re: I don't get swaps

I just looked it up:

"Yes, the engine compartment size for most 6th generation Honda Civics (1996-2000) is generally the same, regardless of the trim level or body style (sedan, coupe, or hatchback).

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • Common Platform:
The 6th generation Civic models (sedan, coupe, and hatchback) all shared the same basic platform and chassis, which meant the engine compartment was essentially the same size for all of them.
  • Engine Options:
While there were different engine options available (like the 1.6-liter D16Y7, D16Y8, D16Y5, and B16A2), they all fit within the same engine bay space.
  • Trim Levels:
The CX, DX, EX, EXR, HX, LX, SE, and Si trims all used the same engine bay dimensions.
  • Exceptions:
The only exception might be the Civic Si coupe (EM1), which had a slightly different engine bay configuration to accommodate the B16A2 engine, but the overall space remained similar."
Even the wheelbases for all 6ths are the same

"Yes, all body styles of the 6th generation Honda Civic (sedan, coupe, and hatchback) share the same wheelbase of 103.2 inches"
