Swapping a D16Y7 for a D15B2
Swapping a D16Y7 for a D15B2
I'm new to this forum and I have a 2000 Civic LX with a dead D16Y7, the engine barely idles and won't move under its own power, and the only engine I have available to me is a '95 D15B2 with unknown miles and I don't even know if this engine runs or has any problems. This is all I have available to me, so my question is how can I get this to work and what are the major difference between the two engines.

You'd need to convert to OBD1 and the wiring is almost completely different. Can you send a video of the D16 running? It sounds like it could be salvageable. I'd certainly look to do that first.
