EG Hatch Swap
EG Hatch Swap
Well I have an EG Hatch, and want to do a swap that is not too expensive. Something that has some power, but I can keep Power Steering, and AC. I was originally considering a B20B with a GSR/SI Tranny. I recently, saw a decently priced H22a Euro R engine, but not sure if I will be able to keep AC/Power Steering. One other thing that I am trying to figure out is the fitment. Aside from mounts, Prelude Halfshafts, B-series outer shafts, Prelude ECU/Chipped P28, and Shift Linkage, what would I need? I should also mention that from what I understood the AC Compressor from the H22 might be able to work, but not sure which is why I am asking.
PS: If I can find a B18C/B16a swaps for cheap then I would go that direction (if anybody can direct me to some of those options).

Re: EG Hatch Swap
Which ever one seems to be the most popular, would be your best bet. That way you'll find the most diy support, and parts support.
Of you have the space, buying a full donor car, is the nest bet; that way you dont miss anything needed, from the donor.

Re: EG Hatch Swap
H-Swap is a total pain in the ***. Axles don't mount in at the proper angle so they snap under any launches or power (above stock), which is why people normally use an H2B kit, so you can use the B-series axles, but it's like $750usd for one and it's still a ton of custom fab.
You'll probably spend twice as much money H-swapping than you would B-swapping.
