2004 Honda Civic LX 4 Door AC issue.

The AC works great, but once in a while when I first start the car the AC doesn't blow. If I lift the hood and kind of slam it the AC starts working and this works every time. I'm thinking loose wire or something, but haven't been able to find any, so here I am. It only does this once in a while. Might not do it for a week or a month and then - no AC. Open the hood, shut it kind of hard, and Houston we have AC.

Not sure if it matter, but it has an automatic transmission and is a 4 door sedan.

I would check the compressor relay.

Re: 2004 Honda Civic LX 4 Door AC issue.

I replaced two relays under the hood that are related the AC/FAN. The issue is pretty intermittent, as in it might not happen for a month or more, or it might happen twice in one week, so it may be a bit before I report back whether the issue is resolved or not. Thanks for the relay tip; the relay didn't even cross my mind.

There will be a separate relay for the compressor.

Intermittent issues are the worst to troubleshoot.

I was going to go out and take a picture of the two relays I replaced, but I found this video that shows the two AC related relays I replaced. Figured I'd post it to show what I replaced and the video may come in handy if someone runs across this thread.
