2001 Civic Cold Start fine then dies, runs fine after restart
Hi Guys,
I have a 2001 Civic coupe non vtec, problem its having is only during cold starts (I live in Toronto, Canada) it would start up fine then after about a minute the engine would sputter then cut out. I then turn the car off wait a minute and turn it on again, it struggles a bit then fires up but for the rest of the day it runs fine, it'll stop and start with no issues. So far I've gotten a new battery and changed the badly corroded engine ground which I initially thought fixed it but it started doing it again the colder the weather got.Thank you in advance, any help would be greatly appreciated!

No check engine lights?
wonder if the temp sensor for the computer is reading weird, maybe the IAC is sticking. Do you have a scanner that can display live data?

Hi, thanks for replying. took a couple days but I ordered a scanner and observed it while the engine started. During the 1 start the scanner says Open loop due to insufficient temperature and does not change till the engine dies, on the 2nd start it changes and reads Closed loop, using O2 sensor for fuel mix.
