2004 Honda Civic

I have a 2004 Honda Civic automatic it don’t shift good. The check engine light it on and when I put it in drive the D blinks. I read the codes it came up with a P0705 I replaced the Neutral safety switch after doing some research did not fix the problem. Today I took it for a ride the engine light was still on but shifted and run perfect the D drive was not blinking I parked it shut it off then started it again then put in drive the D started blinking and didn’t shift right I took it to a transmission shop and the guy said it seem like it was an electrical problem he wasn’t able to diagnose it any further he recommended me to another place . Any suggestions

Re: 2004 Honda Civic

Sorry, I'm not quite familiar with the 7thgen ATs. Commenting bc I'm moving this thread to the correct subforum. While not a complete AT failure, still an AT issue

That said,

Moved to correct subforum (7th Generation Civic >Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it Forum >Transmission >Auto Transmission failures)

Re: 2004 Honda Civic

You sure it is not P1705?
Turn ignition switch to ON (II). Observe the A/T gear position indicator, and shift each position separately. Do any of the gear position lights in the dash stay lit when the shift lever is not in that position? If yes, then may be a faulty transmission range switch on the transmission, a short in the wires or loose terminals.
Spill any liquids lately in the gear shift area to cause a short?
