hey y’all, i just picked up my first project civic with mediocre expectations because i got it for super cheep, it runs fine right now but my dad (retired mechanic) drove it and told me that my automatic transmission was stuck in 4th and slowly deteriorating, i’ve done a little research on the complicated hx cvt transmissions but i’m not sure what i should do next, he says it definitely will need to we replaced swapped or rebuild eventually
thoughts?

Does it have an automatic transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT)? A CVT has no 4th gear.
