Mini me swap trans codes
Mini me swap trans codes
Hey there guys, I just completed a y8 mini me swap on my automatic d16y7 in a 99 civic sedan. Its currently running on the factory y7 computer but with the y8 intake manifold, and cylinder head. I do NOT have any of the vtec stuff wired in as I want to get it running correctly before chasing that around (so in theory aside from the intake manifold it is currently stock).
I used the same transmission and short block and replaced no sensors on the transmission. The car drives fine (SOMETIMES feels gutless... but its an auto d16 so..) but I have the flashing D4 dance party on the gauge cluster. Once I scan it I get the codes P0730 (incorrect gear ratio), and P0715 (Turbine/input shaft speed sensor circuit) and when I clear it they will return within a block of driving.
I have the correct trans fluid level and double checked everything is plugged in. Ive been doing a ton of googling but there seems to be no solid answer for a cause of this issue. All I can find is it could be anything from dirty oil to incorrect engine temp sensor. So obviously this doesnt make sense to me. What could cause this? possibly a bad connection in a plug or is there a super delicate sensor that I maybe looked at the wrong way?

Re: Mini me swap trans codes
It's possible that the vtec should be connected.
It controls the power and torque characteristic above 3000 rpm.
The transmission will be trying to gear for a certain amount 9f torque and power, it can not access at the moment.
