98 EK thumping please help [solved]
Hello everyone I recently replaced my cv axel seals and then started getting a thumping when driving.
Last time this happened to me it was loose lug nuts, not the case this time
I do have a torn cc boot I keep it greased the best I can until I can get a new axel.
It's constant thumping time between never changes with speed not to much though
I can't hear it in 3rd gear and up because of road and exhaust.

Are you sure the inner cv axle is all the way in? Did you hear a clicking sound when you installed them?
Are the new seals leaking?

That was it the shaft that slides into the manual transmission was a bit longer. Length from boot to boot is same. I bought it online autozone then picked it up at store I didn't realize It's actually an ek it Asks before purchase I didn't know if it was or not. Is there really that big of a difference. Like 10mm difference.

What vehicle info did you enter into Autozone's website when ordering the axle and what is your actual car? The part details usually give specs, might tell you if one is supposed to be longer.
