Coolant loss
Coolant loss
Hello guys. I'm new here. I've read a lot on this forum and I still need your help or suggestions. I have Honda Civic EK, year model: 1996. I'm losing the water from my coolan tank. I changed one of the pipes which was already leaking and nothing changed. Yesterday, accidentally i saw white smoke coming from my exhaust after i start the engine while it's cold. While it's idle, in the first 10-20 seconds if i hit the gas it starts to choke a bit but when i hit the gas harder it dissapear or if i let the engine to warm after 20 seconds, everything is okay and the car is running very good and the engine is not overheating (Of course when i fill the tank with water or antifreeze). Also i realize when the engine is warmed enoguh, the smell on the gasoline is a little bit different not as the usual way of smelling. Some people said it's because of coolant leaking and the exhaust is blowing white smoke because of condesation in the pipe. I'm really confused and I need your help so i will know from where i can start. I will attach a short video tomorrow if that's okay. Thanks in advance.
Re: Coolant loss
Is it white smoke or steam? There's a big difference.
The weird smell would tell me it's more than likely leaking coolant onto the exhaust though, so it's either another line or it's still leaking from the one you replaced.
