Hi all new here.
I have had this dam 2000 civic for 21 years. My sister bought it new and hated the road noise. Well I took it off her hands and after having to replace like 8 exhaust systems, 1 alternator, 1 radiator, a number of belts and a 1 gas tank I need a gas tank vent valve which has been discontinued. So far I have not found any luck getting a good used one. This is the cylinder piece that sticks down into the tank in the back end at the high point.
Does anyone have an alt repair part that works for this unit? I am in NY state so I have been unable to get a waiver. Need 2 more years before that happens.
I have been saying one more winter for like the last 8 years and well just trying to get one more winter.

The part worked! Not without a hiccup or two. Ended up having to make a smoke tester. Jar with a soldering iron heating a rag ans baby oil. Controlled the pressure with my leak down tester. In good practice we got a new seal. The seal was bad so we ended up having to pull the unit a second time and used the old crusty seal and like magic got a good seal. the new bit was folding over its self for some reason. Anyhow up rolling and inspected.
