99 civic with D15B

I recently bought a 99 civic with a D15B in it. The guy i got it from didn't have any info on the engine he said thats how he bought it. The CEL is on and the code says its for the Knock sensor. Some times at random the car wont go over 3500rpm when driving....any ideas where i need to look. Also has the vtec solenoid unhooked laying on top on the motor as it has a non vtec in it.

Re: 99 civic with D15B

check to see if the knock sensor is not loose
if tight, replace.
reset CEL and see if it stays off
it's a pain to reach

limp mode - if the ECU is still the VTEC ECU, it's looking for the VTEC - if not in there, you will need correct ECU
