Unhappy 2000 civic swinging rpm

So my 2000 civic automatic transmission (d16y5 engine vtec) started to act weird, when i accelerate the rpm starts swinging until the speed is reached and then it ***** gear and steadies. the rpm dosent dance around when in idle but the car does this massive jerk when i start moving from a stop position. the rpm is steady when i dont accelerate and maintain a steady speed i have video to better explain the situation. PLS help me .

Re: 2000 civic swinging rpm

Is it just cutting when aproching 3000rpm? Or does it bounce at different rpm higher up as well?

It does it higher up as well and I realised that the jerk it does when moving from stop is due to swinging at lower gear

Re: 2000 civic swinging rpm

If it were manual, I'd guess that the clutch was slipping. The engine would be rotating but the transmission wouldn't be able to keep up, causing dropping rpm.

Do you have any CELs on?

Perhaps check the tranny fluid level.

Nop check engine light isn't on, and tranny fluid level is fine.

Could it be the tps ?

Re: 2000 civic swinging rpm

Update: so I changed the tps for a used one and the problem was still the same so I went to the mechanic who cleaned the throttle and the car was still doing the same. Apparently according to the mechanic it wasn't shifting after 2nd gear and it kept getting harder to shift to higher gears. And while I was going to the mechanic the car at a point stopped moving and the d sign started flashing, it happened again when I was on my way home.
I bought this car a week ago but when I test drove it, I ran nice. The transmission specialist (next to the mechanics workshop) said that the tranny needs to be changed. He said they could rebuild it for 2700 dollars. I still believe the tranny dosent need replacement and they are trying to rip me off just like every other mechanic I've been to in Melbourne (past experience with vw polo).
I can feel the car getting worse and worse as I drive it. It still does this jerk when I drive from stop.

Oh and I also just found out that the car has a cvt transmission

The previous owner told me that the transmission fluid was changed 12 months ago. It sounds long but I don't believe it would cause a problem this severe.
Pls advise me what to do.
