Gauge Cluster Lights [solved]

I have a 2000 Honda Civic SI (Canadian) D16y8 SOHC VTEC Manual. My gauge cluster with tachometer works fine but the back light does not work. When I signal, the lights flash and the speedo works etc but the back light does not. Now I know about the common issue with the dimmer switch but before I just go ahead and buy one, is there a way to test my current one? Also, the previous owner was trying to replace the door speakers and he mentioned that the driver side speaker dropped, the electrical wires broke free and touched the metal door causing the SRS light to come on. Is it as simple as just resetting the SRS light using that yellow connector trick and is it possible this has anything to do with the gauge cluster back light? I've never heard of speaker wire causing an SRS light to turn on so thought maybe gauge lights too haha.

Thanks!

Check for blown fuses. Bulbs in the cluster might just be burned out

Okay check all the fuses and did find one blown but replaced it and that did nothing. I also bypassed the dimmer switch and still nothing. Only the backlight doesnt light up. When I remove the bulbs, they have this blue coating so its hard to see the filament if its broken but I cant imagine all the bulbs are burned out.

Okay so Fuses seem all good unless there is a non obvious fuse that could cause the lights to not work. The bulbs are fine. I am stumped.

re: Gauge Cluster Lights [solved]

Okay I have pulled and checked every single fuse and still no back light. I also checked the climate control lights and the top light where you select where the air is directed, those lights dont turn on but the **** that selects how strong the airflow is, does light up. I even swapped another one in and the same thing. This is all tested while the dimmer switch is bypassed.

Update: I fixed it!!!!! Unfortunately not too sure how haha. I took a multimeter to the dimmer switch wiring and didnt get any of the results i needed on that. I then found an alarm system box not plugged in, plugged it in, it beeped a few times, I unplugged it and tried the lights and they now turn on haha. Woot woot.
