What Mods make Civic faster
Re: What Mods make Civic faster
I swear one of these threads pops up weekly. 6th gen civic builds are abundant and very well documented. I’m sure you can find a project that suits your expectations.

OP: Start with your suspension and steering first. You don't need a lot of power to have a good driving experience. However, you need a car that handles well and responsive. Wider rims/tires, quality set of coilovers to lower right height to improve handling, stabilizer bars (optional).

To give you direction of what info we would need so we could give you recommendations...
What are your power goals? I understand you want a bit more pep to your step, and you're not going full race car, but what do you want to get out of your car? To tack on to what sir @HR Puffinblunts (yeah, I'm giving you honorific salutations for.. reasons..) said, suspension and steering is where Honda excels most of the time. Saw a thing on Speed TV way back when, and there was a team of Hondas and a team of Nissans doing time attacks on a course. Team Nissam out powered the Hondas by a good bit, but team Honda had an overall faster lap time due to superior handling (suspension and weight/weight distribution).
Sway bars, strut bars, chassis reinforcements, good tires will probably give you best bang for your buck. You want power? Intakes and exhausts merely shift the power band, often times you're gonna lose low end and gain top end. That translates to crappier acceleration down low, where you're gonna be spending most of your daily driving. I'ma go ahead and guess you don't have an Si with the B16A2, but I'd consider that swap. It can be spendy, but you'll get a whole helluva lot more power out of that engine than the D16. That, and there's much more aftermarket support for go-fast parts with the B16
