Need advice on 98 civic ex repairs

Trying to fix my 98 civic ex - clutch is done - on to suspension, where should I look for complete kits - I will not be doing work but my mechanic lets me buy parts online then he just puts them in - but don’t want to replace shocks and struts then go back and replace steering components
Next is the muffler - it has a can on it and I have been pulled over 2 times already ! What is a good replacement with a lower deep , but now loud sound?
Need to replace the Catalytic converter and it is the one with a O2 sensor in it but none of what I see in the part store look like the one on my car.... where do I find that at?
Then last thing (I think lol) would like to put a cold air in take and turbo in for low cost - what do I need for that?
Thanks in advance !

For regular shocks I like the Monroe Quick struts, you can get them at Rockauto. it gives you the whole shock, spring, and all the little pieces already assembled, just pop out the old and plug in the new one. While at it, replace the upper control arms on the car at the same time, very big difference over the old original one. Also at Rockauto.

Cheapest place I found to get a catalytic convertor is Amazon, found here for our cars:

I have no advice for muffler.I just run a stock exhaust. or a muffler delete.

It seems many people get turbos off Ebay, for example this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Civic...nd!78739!US!-1

But I'm no expert on that.

Good luck.

KYB brand are the stock struts/shocks and are very good quality/durability for the price. If you want to lower the suspension it's best to go with coil overs rather than adjustable lowering springs. Tokico (blue), Koni, orange (fixed) or yellow (adjustable) or Tien are all very good mid-priced brands. My '95 EX has KYB with some eBay lowering springs..I bought the car with this combination three years ago and haven't had any issue. I adjusted the height to a fairly low profile about two inches above the tires. Wide tire/rims help with stability while cornering. Mine has Rota classic rims and tire size 205/50/14.

The Amazon link that 99stockcivic posted is not compatible with an EX model. EX and SI models have a "cat-back" exhaust..meaning the cat convertor is further down from the cylinder head. The cat converter will bolt into place which makes replacement easy. Magnaflow and Walker brands are good quality mid priced replacements. Can opt for a high-flow cat for a deeper sound but won't net any performance gains. If you live in California you need one that's compliant with that state.

This one should give out lower exhaust tones. Call company to ensure fitment with your car: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/flo-42541/

Thanks for the correction. It didn't click the EX and others were different in the location of cat. I apologize for providing bad info.

I should have suggested the KYB option. I'm a boring stock car Civic person, so I tend to think of what's the easy solution that works well, and don't correctly put on my enthusiast hat on to talk about bigger wheels, lowered heights, etc. Thanks for jumping in.
