2004 Civic SE - 3rd brake light not working/can't get bulb out

2004 Civic SE - 3rd brake light not working/can't get bulb out
the 3rd brake light for my 04 sedan won't turn out. I've tried turning it as hard as I can, and it just won't budge. Is there a trick to this thing?!

Might have melted the socket a bit, keep trying?
Heat gun might help.
Or get another one from the junkyard, can't remember if you can disconnect the socket from the harness or not. If not give yourself the lots of extra wire

Wait it won't do the quarter turn to pop it out?

yeah. It literally won't turn out. 2 different people have tried to turn it out now. The sucker is stuck good! the 3rd brake light also doesn't work, but that probably isn't the problem here.

I was totally expecting the old plastic to crack under the stress of the pliers and the cold. Apparently it's at least a little more durable then I expected. Great job Honda!
