Question The lights are intermittent on the auto shifter and the rear window defogger switch

The lights that are showing what gear you're in on the auto shifter after intermittent. usually they are off. I can only tell what gear I'm in by looking at the lights on the dash (which thankfully work all the time).

The button on the dash for the rear defogger is usually not lit up, but sometimes it is lit up.

Where should I check for the grounds on these 2 things? If I have to take much apart, I might have to take it for a shop on this part. The fuse box is a mess since the previous owner installed a remote start.

This switch is sometimes lit up, and other times it's not. There is an orange light in the clear whole that does turn on when it's in use, even when the backlight for the button isn't working.

i have the feeling you need to take to a shop to review the whole wiring... How many lights not litting do you have? I think i count 4 or 5 threads by now...

Thankfully these are all the switches I have left to try to figure out. At least they're working all the time as far as I can tell.

The problems are are probably under the dash where they tapped in to the wires for the remote start, I think when I did mine I pulled the fuse box out to get better access to a couple wires

Need to pull that center trim out, if you find the radio install thread in the diy section it will tell you the steps there's a couple screws and clips holding it in but you need to remove part of the center console to get at the screws

I changed the color of those back in the day when I bought mine. Pretty sure most of them were LEDs soldered on.

If they're soldered on I won't be able to change those. If they're refulre bulbs of some type I might be able to swap those with LEDs
