I have a 2012 Civic that came with only one key w/keyless entry. I want to make a backup key. The simple key without keyless entry is almost half the price of the key with full remote at Car Keys Express. I was thinking that I can get the key-only version as my emergency backup and if I lose the original, then I could make a new keyless entry fob. I know you need a working key to make a new key, but can you make a new keyless entry without the original?
