Help With 2012 Civic
Hey guys
I just bought a Black 2012 Civic DX 4D sedan for super cheap, and I’m hoping to improve its cosmetic condition to give it a bit more value/quality.

The paint is in very bad shape and the previous owner put a wrap on the hood to try to cover it, and I’m thinking I’ll do the same thing rather than repaint it (unless this is easy/cheap, which is probably not the case). Any suggestions for fixing the roof, though? Picture attached.

I’m also looking for some way to fix a bunch of scratches on the sides of the car. Is there some kind of touch-up paint you’d recommend I use?
Finally, I’m considering replacing the hubcaps as they’re not great either. I know they’re 15”, so any recommendations in that area? I might get a wrap for the steering wheel too so if you know any good brands please let me know!
Thanks for any help at all, it would be really appreciated—I don’t know the first thing about this stuff. Thanks guys

Re: Help With 2012 Civic
You could make a rattle can paint job look okay if you prep it well enough (it looked like only the roof in the pictures; not worth your time if the entire car is that bad). I did that on my old Jetta and it looked pretty good after.
For the scratches, are they light, surface-level or deeper? If they're light, just get some polishing compound.
Your local auto parts store is probably your best bet for other hubcaps. I'd try to find a cheap set of wheels instead but that's up to you.
I'd just leave the steering wheel.

Thanks for the help. I’m not opposed to painting the roof myself; what products do you recommend I use for that (I’m a complete novice in this field lol)? The color doesn’t have to be a perfect match because honestly anything would be better than it’s current condition. Thanks again

Re: Help With 2012 Civic
See if you have a local paint and body supply store in your area. As long as you have the paint code (should be located under the hood), they’ll be able to give you a perfect match.
As long as you can keep the surface clean and there isn’t any rust, you won’t need to prime. Clear coat will also probably be necessary, unless it’s pre-mixed.
